Sitting here in Brooklyn on yet another rainy afternoon, I can’t wait to get to Tuscany. I just confirmed our lunch reservation for Tuesday, July 26th, in Bagno Vignoni on the terrace at Hotel Le Terme overlooking the central piazza of the town. (While I’m at it, please let us know if you are vegetarian (and what type – vegan, etc., or if you have any other dietary restrictions we should know about.) Last year, about half the group stayed at this hotel, which has a wonderful spa attached with both a natural indoor thermal spring and a fresh water pool. They also offer various treatments – all types of massage, hydro-therapy, facials, ayurvedic and aroma therapies, etc. They have offered members of our group a 10% discount on all treatments. You can check out all the services they offer and book now, on-line at The Spa. It is a small spa and since our group will have a total of 30 people, not all of us will be able to take advantage of the treatments so book early. For the rest….
There are also free natural springs a short walk down into the wilderness from the village (photo), as well as large outdoor pools (both natural and fresh water) at Hotel Posta Marcucci just at the p
iazzale where the road into town ends. There is a fee for entry but no reservations are required (see photos at Hotel Posta Marcucci).
After your treatment, swim or hike, let’s meet for a glass of wine while we wait for our driver and the ride back to Montalcino
